SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE, född i Edinburgh 1859, var en skotsk läkare och författare, mest känd för sina berättelser om den stilbildande mästerdetektiven Sherlock Holmes. Totalt skrev Doyle 56 noveller och 4 romaner om Holmes och doktor Watson. Han dog 1930 i East Sussex.
